I'm reading a post about formal versus conversational writing (http://headrush.typepad.com/creating_passionate_users/2005/09/conversational_.html). It makes sense. Maybe that's why I enjoy emails from this one person at work, as their emails are more than "another email to read." They're fun to read, a delight. And there's nuggets of knowledge that'll be picked up along the path. My current gig is perhaps my first real corporate job in which I'm working directly for the company whom I'm working for. Most everyone's good at conversating as they're actually talking with people, but when it comes to emails, yikes! But then I think my messages have slowly been marked with corporate-speak here and there. I guess I just want to sound adult-like at times, you know, like being professional or something. But then that gets boring rather quickly. Well, just a few more months before I get to start over. Hopefully the next gig will be a more employee-focused and customer-driven environment in which fun and personality are mandatory.

I've heard people talk about it. I've met people that were a part of it. It looks like it'll be a part of my history as well if I remain till the end - layoff. Being laid off supposedly isn't as bad as getting fired since it's not personal, yet I feel like I'm at guilt for something. I've been telling myself all day to not be angry or mad, nor frustrated, especially at the person that shared the plan as I'm only going to consider them as the "message-bearer" even though they may have shared in coming to the decision. I hope that we do have at least as much time that they said we have before they start officially consolidating the business to increase revenue.
For the next few pages of my life, Romans 8:28 will be my lifeline, hoping that I am among the ones whom Love has called to his service.

The commute to work this morning was less than pleasant to say the least. Rolling Road, which usually takes me between three to five minutes to get to the end of from where I get onto it took half an hour this morning. I think the usual half-hour or so commute time to work took an hour today. However, seeing a fire truck in the far left lane on the opposite direction of the Braddock Road go over the median to make a right turn made the delay worthwhile. Anyhow, the snow could be the "blame" for this morning's long commute. But oh, how beautiful the snow-covered grass, ground, and trees were! Other than that of a brilliant creator that could think of painting the sky in a mix of colors during sunsets, I can think of no one else that'd have snow cover the earth the way it does.
