I'm reading a post about formal versus conversational writing (http://headrush.typepad.com/creating_passionate_users/2005/09/conversational_.html). It makes sense. Maybe that's why I enjoy emails from this one person at work, as their emails are more than "another email to read." They're fun to read, a delight. And there's nuggets of knowledge that'll be picked up along the path. My current gig is perhaps my first real corporate job in which I'm working directly for the company whom I'm working for. Most everyone's good at conversating as they're actually talking with people, but when it comes to emails, yikes! But then I think my messages have slowly been marked with corporate-speak here and there. I guess I just want to sound adult-like at times, you know, like being professional or something. But then that gets boring rather quickly. Well, just a few more months before I get to start over. Hopefully the next gig will be a more employee-focused and customer-driven environment in which fun and personality are mandatory.
